Abbey slitters

Made to slit carbon and stainless steels with efficiency and precision,  With the ability to handle coils up to 45 t and 2,790 mm wide, every Abbey slitter is built with long-term high performance in mind. The heavy-duty slitter is designed for hard work – but with the understanding that the machinery needs to adapt to process demands. The quick-change lift-off, injector or powered-injector slitting heads can be switched in under an hour to keep steel processing on track.

Technical advantages

  • Automated entry
  • Automatic edge control
  • Shearing to correct the leading edge
  • Injector or lift-off slitting heads
  • Scrap winders or choppers
  • Adjustable tension stand

Precise slitting and careful handling

Proper coil control is central to the design of the Abbey slitter. Protecting the coil from damage throughout the slitting operation ensures the highest possible coil quality and maximum process efficiency.

Stainless steel slitting

The 1525 mm (60 in.) Abbey slitter is designed specifically for precision slitting of bright finished stainless steel strip. Non-marking materials are used throughout to protect the strip finish. Quick change heads and tension stand are included as standard.
